Logitech vs Razer – G Series against Chroma and Deathadder Elite!

If you’re looking to get yourself a gaming keyword, then two of the main brands that enter into the equation are Logitech and Razer. Whilst Logitech have a wider variety of products and specialise in a ton of different things, Razer specialise in gaming software. But does that make them necessarily the better choice out of the two?

Well, not necessarily. Depending on exactly what product it is that you want, one of these brands may prove to be the better choice. But, that really depends on what you want. So, lets have a look at some of the things that might make each of these a better option for you.

Gaming Keyboards – Razer Blackwidow Chroma V2 vs Logitech G Pro

The Chroma V2  is the best keyboard around for both intermediates and beginners in my opinion. And whilst the G Pro  isn’t too far behind, I’d advise you look at the Chroma if you’re looking for something a level up. There are a few reasons why I like the Chroma.

The main reason that I prefer the Chroma is because generally I prefer Razer switches. Whilst the Logitech Pro uses Romer G-Linear switches, for me this is overkill. The Romer G-Linear has a shallower depth between key and board, which means if you want to spam a certain key, this is going to be easier as the keycap has less distance to travel. But, if you use the two in comparison, the Chroma V2 feels far easier to use in my opinion. Plus, you can actually use it for other stuff too.

With the Chroma V2 you get the option of picking between three different switches. Here’s a quick guide to what they all mean;

  • Green – Tactile and clicky is how Razer describe their green switches. Whilst they are loud, this can be better for those that was to hear their clicks and feel them too.
  • Orange – Orange is my personal favorite of the three different types of Razor switch they use in their keyboards. Whilst it’s much quieter than the green option, you can still feel your clicks, which for me is important.
  • Yellow – If you want something for professionals or quick fire gaming, yellow switches can prove to be the best option. Quiet and non-resistant, they’re a good choice for those who want a low actuation point (1.2mm).

Aside from just the mechanical switches, ergonomically I find the Razer keyboards a better option out of the two. Although there’s nothing wrong with the G Pro, it just doesn’t match up to the Chroma in my opinion. The Chroma is a little bit more expensive than the G Pro, but it’s worth that little bit more (if you’re looking for even cheaper mice, then check out my guide to the best cheap gaming mouse).

Gaming Mice – Razer Deathadder Elite vs Logitech G602

Another good comparison to make is between theDeathadder Elite  and the Logitech G602 . They’re two of the mid range gaming mice and one of the most popular options from each brand. But which one is a better options out of the two? As you might expect with a mouse, this is a little more difficult to conclude than with a keyboard or a set of gaming headphones.

The reality is that between these two, or Razer mice in general, they’re usually the better option. The Deathadder Elite is one of the best budget gaming mice around in my opinion, and it beats the G602 in two areas. First of all, aesthetically it’s much better than the Logitech. It looks better, and it feels better overall.

But as well as this, I’ve always found Razer mice, including the Deathadder, to have much better functionality than anything that Logitech have put out. Sure Logitech mice work fine, but they’re big and bulky and extremely basic. Whereas Razer mice are designed with gaming as the utmost importances, making the Deathadder a much better choice of the two in my opinion.

Gaming Headphones – Logitech G430 vs Razer Kraken Pro

When it comes to gaming headphones, I’m going to use the G430's  and the Kraken Pro's  as my example. Razer Gaming headphones are generally more advanced than Logitech’s and when you increase the price scale, then Razer do make some awesome headphones. But if we’re looking at a direct comparison, then this one makes the most sense.

Both of these models are a similar price, usually retailing between $60-80 (if you can get them cheaper than that, it’s a steal!). But if you compare their specifications, then one set is much better than the other. And you might be surprised to know – it’s the Logitech G430s.

Reasons? Well firstly, the G430’s have a noise cancelling microphone. This helps to cancel out any noise in the background when you’re speaking, which is essential to gaming. No one wants to hear what your Mom is cooking for dinner or what you friends are chatting about, so noise cancelling is essential in my opinion. The Kraken Pro’s don’t have this!

Another thing that’s valuable to gamers is the ability to mute the mic so that the other person can’t hear when you’re talking. The Kraken’s don’t have this, but the G430’s do, which is another bonus of them. The Logitech set are also more portable and lightweight, and you can easily

And finally, the main reason that the G430’s are a better choice out of the two is quite simply because of the sound! The sound quality of the G430’s is ultimately better than the Pro’s, they have a higher frequency and they use Dolby Digital Tech, which gives them a better all round sound. This isn’t just the case with these headphones, as it’s generally the case with Logitech headphones in general.

Conclusion

Overall, it’s pretty easy to make the conclusion of which would be a better choice. For the majority of people looking for the cheapest option, then Logitech are going to be the better choice out of the two. They provide a decent alternative option for those looking for gaming stuff. In a lot of cases, their products are similar to Razers, and like the gaming headphones I showed you, sometimes their specifications are actually a little better.

Saying that, you aren’t going to be the aesthetics of Razer. They’re undoubtedly easier to use and they feel more ‘sleek’ in comparison to their Logitech equivalents, so for more serious gamers, Razer will often be the better choice. So, depending on your budget, it should be easy to make up your mind on which is a better choice for your circumstances.

  1. Logitech is better than razer & Deathadder elite is better than logitech g602 beacuse g602 is much cheaper, but Logitech mice are maybe best in world.

    • You’re not the only person to think Logitech is better! Whilst I do like Logitech mice, I’m happy using my Razer for now (although I still have a Logitech MX Master laying around somewhere!).
